As shown in this tutorial, removing the gear knob from the Mazda 3 is a very simple and quick operation. You will not need any special tools for this.

To proceed with the removal, grasp the knob and turn it forcefully counterclockwise, using a cloth and pliers if you need to increase your grip. Once completely unscrewed, insert the new knob and screw it on, ensuring it is tightened well while also positioned perfectly straight.

Again, you can use a cloth to enhance your grip.
