If you have changed the oil on your Mazda 3 but the oil light remains on, follow these simple instructions to reset it. Get into the car, close all the doors, press and hold both the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal simultaneously, and turn on the ignition. Wait for about twenty seconds while keeping both pedals fully pressed until the oil light starts to flash. Turn off the ignition, and only then release the pedals. If done correctly, when you turn the ignition back on, you will notice that the light has turned off.
