As shown in this tutorial, replacing the key fob battery on a Mazda CX-8 is a very simple and quick task. To do this, you will need a small flathead screwdriver and a replacement CR2025 battery. First, press the button on the back and remove the emergency key, then separate the two halves of the key fob by prying with the screwdriver along the seam. For this step, you can apply tape to the tip of the screwdriver to avoid leaving marks on the fob. Once opened, remove the circular cover and proceed with replacing the battery.
