How to Change the Battery of a Mazda 5

Let's see how to change the battery of a Mazda 5: open the bonnet and remove the plastic cover that conceals the old battery; disconnect the negative terminal (black) first using a 10 mm spanner to loosen the terminal bolt; slide it off and place it away from the battery. Repeat for the positive terminal (red). Remove the fixing plate by unscrewing the two nuts (also 10 mm) that secure the metal plate above the battery. One of the nuts comes off easily, while the other is more difficult. Extract the battery, remembering that it is quite heavy. Take this opportunity to clean the terminals with a wire brush and the battery tray. Purchase a suitable battery for your vehicle's needs, then reattach the fixing plate and ensure the battery is secure. Reconnect the positive terminal first, then the negative, and finally replace the cover. Check by starting the engine.
