How to Replace the Serpentine Belt on the Mercedes C-Class W204

Replacing the serpentine belt and the two idler pulleys requires some patience and a screwdriver with a flexible extension to access a clamp securing a vapor recovery hose. Start by removing the air intake duct, then disconnect the hoses from the heat exchanger located right in front of the serpentine belt. Next, remove the mounting screws of the heat exchanger to shift it without fully removing it. At this point, loosen the tensioner and insert a locking pin to hold it in place. Remove the old belt, replace the pulleys, install the new belt, and release the tensioner before reassembling everything that was previously removed.
