To replace the serpentine belt on a Mercedes C-Class, open the hood to access the components in the engine compartment. You will need to remove the plastic cover on top of the engine block by disconnecting the intake hose. This will give you access to the front of the engine block, where the serpentine belt is located. By loosening the center nut on the tensioner pulley, you can reduce the tension on the belt, completely removing it from its housing and replacing it with a new one.
