In order to comply with current anti-pollution regulations, the diesel engine of the Mercedes S-Class is equipped with a nitrogen oxide reduction system that uses AdBlue fluid. This is contained in a separate tank and a control system prevents the vehicle from starting if the level is too low. To check the tank level, sit in the driver's seat, turn on the instrument panel, use the arrow buttons on the left side of the steering wheel to select the Service option on the central display, and confirm with Ok. In the next screen, select AdBlue to view the level and estimated range.
