Replacing Mass Air Flow Sensor

Model: Mercedes Classe S MK 3, W140 - Years 1991-1998

The mass air flow sensor (commonly known as MAF sensor) is located right above the engine, between the two air filters; to access it, start by removing the front part of the plastic cover on the engine, then complete the removal of the rear part, which is actually the air filter housing; then unclip the metal tabs along the edges of the housing to remove it: at the center of the two filter slots is the mass air flow sensor; to replace it, disconnect the corresponding connector and the mounting screws; then proceed in reverse for installation.
