Mercedes Classe S - Video tutorial

Model: Mercedes Classe S MK 4, W220 - Years 1999-2005
Part: Crankshaft RPM sensor
Operation: Crankshaft rpm sensor replacement

Crankshaft RPM sensor malfunction manifests itself in engine mis-starting, sudden shutdowns or jerky operation. Open the front hood and make sure it is supported safely. Then remove the plastic cover of the engine by simply pulling it upwards (it consists of two pieces) and intercept the rpm sensor: it is located in the rear right part (looking at the engine from the front) in a lateral position. Then unhook the socket connected to the sensor, unscrew the fixing pin with an E8 torx wrench and remove it from its seat. Then apply the new sensor, tighten the fixing pin, hook the socket and check that the engine starts regularly. Finally, refit the engine cover.

In this tutorial we can see how to reset the oil service in the Fiat Toro. Before carrying out this simple and quick operation, make sure that you have completed any required maintenance work. We start by inserting the key but leaving it in the initial position, after which we keep the accelerator pedal fully depressed and at the same time turn on the instrument panel. At this point, always keeping the accelerator pressed, press the brake pedal 5 consecutive times and, with the pedals in position, turn off the ignition. We check that the procedure has been successful by starting the vehicle.
