Replacing Crankshaft Sensor on Mercedes S-Class W220

Model: Mercedes Classe S MK 4, W220 - Years 1999-2005

Replace the crankshaft sensor on the Mercedes S-Class W220 (and W210) is really simple. Lift the hood and use the prop rod. It is located in the engine compartment on the left side of the vehicle (driver's side). Disconnect the black connector shown in the video that relates to your sensor by pressing the tab, then remove the T8 bolt that secures it. Done! Pull out the sensor and replace it, then reinstall the bolt remembering to tighten it to 7 lb-ft. As you can see, this operation, although unknown to many, is extremely basic and quite quick.
