Complete Radio Disassembly

Model: Mercedes Classe E W124 - Years 1984-1995

Turn the ignition key to cut power to the radio. Open the ashtray door and remove it forward to access the radio's retaining springs. Remove the panel cover by prying at the edges with a plastic tool. Using two thin tools, such as flathead screwdrivers, locate the radio's retaining springs underneath and, while prying, pull the radio outward, being careful of the connected wires. Remove all wiring from the back until the radio is completely extracted.
