In this video, we see three important things to know about the automatic transmission of a Mercedes: in this case, it is a Class E W213. The gear selector is not located in the center console like in traditional cars, but on the steering wheel, like a gear lever. It works down for drive, up for reverse, first resistance for neutral, side button for park. If you close the door with a gear engaged, the car automatically goes into "park"; if you also unfasten the seatbelt, the electronic parking brake is activated; this is located on the left side of the steering wheel and is pulled to release the brake, pressed to activate it. If you put the gear in with the door open, the brake does not release automatically.
