How to enter brake pad service mode on a Mercedes E-Class W213

Let's see how to enter brake pad service mode on a Mercedes E-Class W213: Insert the key and turn it to position 1, without starting the engine. The handbrake must be disengaged. Press the "ok" button on the steering wheel; at the same time, press the "back" button (a left arrow) and hold both buttons down for about ten seconds, until a service or diagnostic screen appears on the instrument cluster. Use the directional buttons to find the option called "brake pad service" or "wear indicator". Confirm with "ok" and you will hear a slight noise from the electric motors in the rear wheels: this is the signal that the parking brake actuator has retracted to service position. After completing the work, return to the menu on the instrument cluster, go back to the option you selected and press "ok" again. You will hear the noise of the actuators repositioning.
