How to Replace the Gear Lever Gaiter on a Mercedes B-Class W245

The wear of the gear lever gaiter is caused by both the friction generated during gear changes and by car wash detergents, as well as the action of the summer sun. If you need to replace this gaiter, it is recommended to purchase one made of genuine leather. To remove the gaiter, start by detaching the frame at its base that connects it to the central tunnel cover. Then, lift the gaiter upwards to access the ring that secures the knob to the lever. Rotate the ring and pull the knob upwards to remove it from the lever. At this point, completely unscrew the ring, remove the gaiter, detach the upper ring, and remove the metal clips that secure the gaiter to the frame. Proceed in reverse for reassembly.
