To unlock the automatic gearbox of the Mercedes B-Class, remove the central tunnel cover, which is where the glove compartment and cup holders are located. Once this panel is removed, you will find a lever underneath it. Pull this lever down to unlock the gear selector; it can only be moved while the lever is held down.

At this point, you can release the lever after moving the selector and cover everything back with the respective panel.
