It is possible to eliminate the Service light on a Mercedes SLK by turning on the instrument panel, turning the appropriate key in the ignition switch: once the panel is on, press the button on the left side of the panel twice, then turn it off. Once the panel is off, hold down the button on the left side, insert the key, and turn on the instrument panel; continue holding the button for a few seconds, noticing that the Service light will completely disappear from the instrument panel, allowing you to turn it off.
