Let's see how to replace the shell of a three-button Mercedes key: first, obtain the new shell which can be found on Amazon with the code B0BJ6LJZG1 for £21.99, with free delivery in one day for Prime customers. Using a small flat screwdriver, pry between the two halves of the old remote to extract the metal blade.

Now the rear cover is free, and you can open it and take the electronic board from the key and carefully place it in the front housing of the new shell. Insert the battery into its compartment; take the half of the new shell and snap it into the front part, pressing evenly until you hear all the clips click into place.

Reattach the chrome cap and the side chrome panels by sliding them gently into position, and replace the emergency key, which should lock into place with a click.
