How to Remove the Car Radio from a Mercedes CLS

To remove the car radio from a Mercedes CLS, first extract the control panel that houses the hazard light switch located below the radio. This will be secured to the dashboard with two screws at the bottom, and to access them, simply remove the ashtray. To remove the ashtray more easily, you can detach the cover of the gear shift by pulling it upward with some force. Once the ashtray is removed, you will have access to the two screws of the control panel, which can then be unscrewed. After unscrewing the screws, disconnect the three power connectors attached to the control panel, and you can then proceed to pull it out from the dashboard. Once the control panel is removed, you will have access to two more screws located under the radio. These screws secure the radio to the dashboard and must be removed to extract it. After removing the radio, you can replace it with a new one, ensuring you have all the necessary modifications if you plan to install an aftermarket radio. Then, after installing the new radio, simply reassemble everything in the reverse order of disassembly.
