How to Change the Diesel Filter on a Mercedes A-Class

On the Mercedes A-Class, the diesel filter is located in the engine compartment and is easily recognizable because it is a cylinder with a metal cover and fuel lines connected at the top. Once you locate the filter, work on the clamps that secure the hoses to the cover: in the video, the clamps are loosened, and the connections are released to remove the hoses from the filter. At this point, handle the filter carefully to avoid bending the rigid hoses and stressing the lines: the goal is to disconnect just enough to remove the filter and replace it with a new one. When installing the replacement, ensure the hoses are reattached exactly as they were and tighten the clamps securely: they must hold without cutting into the rubber and, most importantly, should not allow any leaks. After reassembly, before starting the engine, proceed to prime the system: in the video, the key is turned to the "ON" position to activate the system and help refill the filter. Only after this step should you proceed with starting the engine.
