Water in the carpet of the Mercedes W204 is often caused by clogged sunroof drain tubes. The tubes carry water from the sunroof to the underbody. When they become blocked (with leaves, sand, or pollen), water overflows and runs behind the front pillar, ending up under the carpet. To fix this, remove the wheel and the inner fender liner to access the drain tube. Clean the tube with compressed air or a wire. In the video, the technician also cut a piece of the tube to facilitate drainage. After cleaning, check the drainage by pouring water into the sunroof: the water should exit under the vehicle. Also, check the rear tubes. Periodic cleaning prevents the issue.
