If, when the ignition is switched on, the lights on the dial appear dim and go off completely during the ignition phase, it means that the starter battery is completely discharged; on this Mercedes model, the battery is located at the rear, in the luggage compartment, on the right side, below the loading floor covering; therefore, once the rear bonnet has been opened, lift and remove the loading surface coating to access the spare wheel and battery housing which is immediately next to it; therefore disconnect the poles, the vapor vent tube, the fastening strap and the side bracket; take out the old battery and install the new one by proceeding in reverse order.
