Want to remove the shift knob from a Mercedes C and don't know how? Let's see how to disassemble the knob from the shift lever. Use a plastic trim tool to disconnect the frame of the leather boot if you want to replace it, then detach the boot from under the knob. Grasp the knob with your hands and rotate it left and right until you remove it from the shift lever. Take the new knob and slide it onto the lever on the center tunnel, securing it with the plastic retainer. Test the movement of the lever on the center tunnel to ensure the knob is properly anchored to the lever.
