How to Replace the Brake Light Bulb on a Mercedes E-Class E220 CDI

This guide shows how to replace the brake light bulb on your car. The first step is to remove the retaining pins from the plastic panel at the bottom edge of the trunk, the lock cover, and the spare tire cover. Disconnect the plastic frame of the hatch guide hole on the side you are working on from the side panel. Lift the plastic frame of the trunk and disconnect the internal light wires, then remove the piece. Next, remove the side panel after unscrewing the screws and locking pins. After unscrewing the five retaining screws of the tail light, disconnect the connector and pull out the piece. Unscrew the three screws on the back of the tail light and remove the gasket; at this point, you can replace the broken bulb. After reinstalling the tail light, test the new part for proper operation. Reassemble the removed pieces by following the steps in reverse, and the replacement is complete. The tools needed are: - Flathead screwdriver; - Hex wrench.
