First, ensure the key is not in the ignition, then open the trunk and, by removing the various retaining rivets, take off the plastic cover located on the inner edge of the light in question.

Next, separate the rear interior carpet, disconnect the power connector, and remove the two nuts using a 8mm socket wrench. At this point, simply separate the light from the body and install the replacement if necessary.
