How to Replace the Rear Shock Absorber on a Mercedes Viano

Before you can start, lift your Mercedes Viano. Begin by unscrewing and removing the bolts that secure the wheel to the hub, then remove the wheel itself. This will give you access to the shock absorber. Next, relieve the tension on the shock absorber using an additional jack. At this point, it will be necessary to unscrew and remove the bolts that secure the shock absorber. Once you have removed the bolts, you can also take out the shock absorber, completing the disassembly. To install the new shock absorber, simply repeat these instructions in reverse, and you will have successfully completed the replacement.
