Replacing the Windshield Wiper Motor on the Mercedes C-Class

To replace the windshield wiper motor on the Mercedes C-Class, work in the wheel well on the driver’s side. First, lift the vehicle, remove the driver’s side wheel, and take off the inner fender cover. At the bottom, you will find the washer reservoir and the motor. In this case, water is leaking where the motor is located, so it needs to be replaced or repaired. To remove it, disconnect the hose that supplies water to the windshield. As water drains out, pull the motor upward using a flathead screwdriver. Allow the water to finish draining, disconnect the connector by lifting the tab and pulling it out. After removing the motor, inspect it, remove the top cap, take out the motor, and check for water damage (as seen in the motor housing, there are water and lime residues). After cleaning everything (the motor seat, the motor itself, and other components), to repair it, insert a piece of heat-shrink tubing where the gasket goes, ensuring it adheres well. Apply a small amount of grease to the tubing using the tip of a screwdriver, insert the original gasket (not all the way), spread the remaining grease on the gasket, and insert the motor into its seat, paying attention to the orientation. Replace the top cap, ensuring the contacts come through the cap holes until you hear a click. Connect the vehicle's connector, position it in its seat, reinsert the hose that supplies water to the windshield, refill with water, and operate the wiper to check for leaks. Finally, reinstall the inner fender cover, put the wheel back on, and lower the vehicle.
