How to Reset the Service Indicator on a Mercedes GL

Model: Mercedes Gl MK 1, X164 - Years 2006-2012

To reset the service indicator on a Mercedes GL, start by placing the key in position 1 so that only the SRS light comes on (do not turn on the ignition), press the "R" button on the instrument panel three times until the battery voltage display appears; then press the button on the left side of the steering wheel with the arrow pointing up until the "service menu" appears; use the "-" button to scroll down until "confirmation" lights up and press the button on the left side of the steering wheel to confirm (the button to the left of the down arrow button), "full service" will appear, press the same button again and "service confirmed" will show, finally press the same button once more. At this point, you can remove the key from the ignition, reinsert it, and start the car.
