Mercedes Classe C - Video tutorial

Model: Mercedes Classe C W204 - Years 2007-2013
Part: Outside rearview mirror
Operation: Replacement of the rear view mirror of a Mercedes C-Class W204

To be able to remove the exterior rearview mirror, the mirror must first be tilted as far forward as possible. We flip the rearview mirror backwards and release the glass from its holder with an energetic movement. We remove the rear connectors. Now we need to remove the turn signal by unscrewing the three screws highlighted in the video. In this way we detach the frame. We unlock the retaining hook that holds the lower and upper part of the mirror together: by doing so, the direction indicator also comes off. Inside the cover there are two screws that hold the direction indicator in place, so we can unhook it. After opening the window, we unplug the speaker box, and its connector. We remove the foam padding contained in the speaker. We remove the upholstery placed above the control unit in the driver's door. Here we find some pins, where the two white ones placed higher up belong to the rearview mirror. Loosen the cables. The mirror is now held in place only by the three screws on the speaker triangle. We remove them and pass the bundle of cables. Removal of the mirror is now complete.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
