How to Replace the Front Headlamp on the Mercedes Vito

To replace the headlamp on the Mercedes Vito, start by opening the bonnet and holding it up. Using a T30 Torx key, unscrew the upper screws of the grille. Then, using a crosshead screwdriver, unscrew the lower screws (between the bumper and the plastic under the headlamp, one on the right and one on the left) and remove the grille. Once the grille is off, use pliers to detach the spring holding the indicator lamp, remove it, and disconnect the connectors. After removing the indicator lamp, disconnect the headlamp connectors and the rear tube from the headlamp using pliers. Then, with a T25 Torx key, unscrew the headlamp screws. Transfer the bulbs from the old headlamp to the new one: remove the spring from the cover, take off the cover, disconnect the bulb connectors, detach the springs, and remove the bulbs, including the position bulb. After removing the bulbs from the old headlamp, take the position bulb and fit it into the new one, then fit the dipped and main beam bulbs; secure the springs and reconnect the connectors. Replace the cover and secure the spring. Position the new headlamp, screw in the T25 screws, reconnect the rear tube, spray contact cleaner on the connector, blow with compressed air, and connect it to the headlamp. Spray electrical contact cleaner on the indicator connectors, reconnect them, and secure the spring. Now, using a crosshead screwdriver, position the lower screw of the grille first on the passenger side (with the grille slightly off) and then secure it with the other screw. Use a T30 Torx key to screw in the upper screws, close the bonnet, and check the headlamp's correct operation.
