Repairing Climate Control Buttons

Model: Mercedes Slk R170, MK 1 - Years 1997-2004

It may happen that due to oxidation of contacts or contamination from car wash products (cleaners or dashboard sprays), some buttons on the central tunnel console do not function correctly. You can replace and/or clean the contacts by removing the buttons without dismantling the console itself: lever along the edges of the button to remove the outer cap, then use pliers to extract the button itself. Clean with contact spray and reassemble the button, ensuring it functions correctly, and reposition the cap, making sure it fits properly.
