Replacing the Fuel Filter

Model: Mercedes Classe A W168 - Years 1997-2004
Part: Diesel fuel filter

The fuel filter is not located in the engine compartment like in most vehicles, but underneath the floor, in a more or less central position. Once the vehicle is lifted, locate the filter housing and remove the corresponding support bracket. Place a container to catch any fuel that spills out and disconnect the inlet, outlet, and return lines by loosening the respective clamps. Then, insert the new filter, ensuring the correct flow direction, attach and secure the lines (replace the clamps if necessary), and then place it back in the support.
