How does the PRESAFE function work? This advanced safety system uses a variety of radar sensors located under the front bumper and the Mercedes-Benz emblem, along with additional brake assist plus and the PRESAFE brake with pedestrian recognition. By utilizing the pedestrian recognition function, the PRESAFE brake takes on a new dimension. A stereo camera and a long, medium, and short-range radar system monitor the area in front of the vehicle. The control unit combines this information and processes it to ensure early detection of road users in the analyzed lane.
