Instructions for Replacing Rear Brake Shoes

Model: Mercedes Classe S MK 3, W140 - Years 1991-1998

To replace the rear brake shoes, proceed as follows: lift the vehicle and remove the rear wheel. Then, unscrew the mounting pins of the caliper and its bracket to remove it along with the pads. Next, unscrew the mounting screw of the drum (which also acts as a disc) and remove it from its seat to access the shoes. Release the retaining springs of the shoes, the support pins, and remove them. Then, install the new shoes by reconnecting the springs and resetting the parking brake adjustment before proceeding in reverse for reassembly.
