Replacing Rear Brake Discs and Pads

Model: Mercedes Classe S MK 3, W140 - Years 1991-1998

Lift the vehicle on a hydraulic lift and remove the rear wheel. Using a suitable punch, first remove the upper retaining pin of the brake pads, then take out the retaining spring and the lower pin; before removing the pads, use a screwdriver to push back the piston of the brake caliper. Next, remove the caliper (unscrew the two rear mounting bolts) and the disc (unscrew the hex bolt that secures the disc to the hub).
Clean the new disc of protective oil and attach it to the hub; reposition the caliper, insert the new pads, the lower pin, the spring, and the upper pin.
