Replacing Battery in Mercedes S-Class

Model: Mercedes Classe S W221, MK 5 - Years 2005-2013

On the Mercedes S-Class W221, the battery is not located under the hood, but in the compartment behind the rear seats. Access it from the trunk, so lift the hatch and remove the panel at the back of the trunk (the one near the rear seats). Using a socket wrench, loosen the bolt for the strap that holds the battery in place to free it. Disconnect the negative terminal (the one on your left) and then the positive terminal. At this point, you can simply pull out the battery. Insert the new battery and reverse the process.
