How to Reset the Service Light on a Mercedes E-Class?

Model: Mercedes Classe E W211 - Years 2002-2009

On the Mercedes E-Class, reset the Service light by turning the ignition key to the ON position. Once the dashboard lights up, navigate to the menu that appears using the controls on the left side of the steering wheel. Select "Service data" and then "Confirmation": this will bring up another screen where you need to select "Standard oil". Doing this will display a confirmation message on the screen, and the Service light will completely disappear from the dashboard.
