Replacing the air filter on a Mercedes Class A W168 is a relatively simple operation. Follow these steps. Open the hood: make sure the engine is cold and open the hood of the engine compartment. Locate the air filter box: The filter box (Air Box) is located right on the engine. Remove the screws along the edge of the filter box cover and lift the cover. Remove the old filter: remove the cylindrical filter element and clean any dirt residue. Insert the new filter: place the new filter in the filter housing, making sure the gasket fits perfectly. Reassemble the cover: screw the tightening screws on the air filter cover.
