To replace the rearview mirror on a Mercedes S-Class, use a tool to pry off the courtesy light panel located in front of the mirror. Once this panel is removed, disconnect the connectors inside.

Next, remove the panel at the back of the mirror to expose the mounting screws. Loosen all these screws to detach the mirror and replace it with a new one.
