How to set the manual transmission on a Mercedes with automatic transmission: It is true that you can use the paddles located on the left side of the steering wheel to switch the car into manual mode, but it is also true that if you stay in this mode for a longer period without shifting, the vehicle will revert to automatic mode.

To keep the manual mode fixed, go to the infotainment system, select "settings", then "dynamic select". Next, select "individual configurations", then "traction" and choose "manual". This way, every time you set the mode to "individual", the transmission will automatically switch to manual.
