How to Change the Engine Oil in the MG Hector

This guide shows how to change the engine oil in the MG Hector. The first step is to remove the old filter cartridge located at the front of the engine using a socket wrench. Drain the oil into a disposal container. Clean the filter seat, and after lubricating the seal of the new element, install it in position. From the bottom of the vehicle, remove the Torx T50 drain bolt from the oil pan; drain the lubricant into a disposal container. Replace the old gasket of the plug and, after lubricating it, reinstall it in position. Clean up any oil residue and tighten the drain plug. From the engine compartment, fill the oil reservoir with the correct amount and run the engine for a few minutes. Check the fluid level and top off as needed.
