Mini Cooper: how to reset the service indicator from the instrument cluster

Model: Mini Mini R57, R55, R56 - Years 2007-2014
Part: Service warning light

On the MINI Cooper R56, insert the key into the reader and turn the ignition to ON by pressing the START/STOP button without starting the engine. Using the small button on the right under the tachometer, access the service menu on the display: icons for brakes, vehicle check, and engine oil with their respective date/mileage will appear. When the item to be reset is highlighted, use the BC command on the left lever of the steering column and hold it down until the word RESET appears on the display. Confirm by holding down BC again: the counter will reset and the expiration date will update (for example, 03/2027 for oil or 03/2029 for vehicle check). Repeat the same procedure for the other items in the MINI Cooper's service menu. At the end of the operation, return to the standard screen: the maintenance light will be reset without using diagnostic tools.

Reset Service Light on Peugeot 208

What to do if the service light appears on a Peugeot 208? Here’s how to reset it. Enter the vehicle, turn on the ignition with the appropriate key (you will see the maintenance message). Turn off the ignition and press the button above the instrument cluster. Turn the ignition back on and wait for the countdown on the instrument cluster (release the button when the countdown ends). Turn off the ignition with the key, then turn it back on to check the maintenance status (the light should no longer be illuminated). If no light is displayed, everything has gone well.
