How to Replace the Steering Wheel of a Mini Cooper

Model: Mini Mini R56, R55, R57 - Years 2007-2014

Before you begin, disconnect the battery to work safely. Next, sit in the driver's seat of your Mini Cooper. Start by unscrewing and removing the Torx screws at the back that secure the airbag to the steering wheel. Then, gently pull the airbag away from its housing in the steering wheel and disconnect the internal connector. At this point, unscrew and remove the central nut that secures the steering wheel to the steering column, then remove the steering wheel itself to complete the disassembly. To fit the new steering wheel, simply follow these steps in reverse, and you will have completed the replacement.
