How to Replace the Key Battery of a Mini Cooper

Start by pressing the button on the side of the key. This will allow you to remove the emergency key inside. Once the emergency key is removed, you will notice a slot on the back of the key. Insert the tip of a flathead screwdriver into this slot and pry it open to remove the rear cover.

Once the cover is removed, you will see a plastic cap held by a clip, which also needs to be removed with the flathead screwdriver. This will give you direct access to the battery, allowing you to replace it. After replacing the battery, simply reverse the steps to reassemble the key and you will have successfully completed the replacement.
