How to replace the gear knob of the Mini Cooper

In the following article, we will explain how to replace the gear knob of the Mini Cooper. For this operation, no tools are needed. To replace the gear knob, first remove the lower plastic cover which in some versions has the drive mode selector. Pull upwards to remove it from the fixing pins, once removed, lift it and disconnect the connector if the drive mode selector is present. Once the connector is removed, grab the gear lever and lift it upwards to remove it. Once removed, remove the lower plastic cover by pressing with your fingers. Once removed, install it on the new gear knob. At this point, position the gear knob in its housing and press to fix it. Once the gear knob is correctly inserted, connect the connector if the selector is present, and then reposition the plastic cover.
