How do you reset the Nissan X-Trail's ECU?

In order to reset the ECU of the Nissan X-Trail, you need to insert the ignition key into the ignition switch: once the dashboard is turned on, you can press the accelerator pedal five times. Now you need to hold down the pedal for a few seconds, until the engine light starts flashing: when this happens, release the pedal and then press it again. When the engine light starts flashing more rapidly, you can release the pedal, turn off the dashboard and turn it back on to complete the process.
