This brief guide shows how to reset the ECU or control unit on the Nissan X-Trail second generation, as well as on most Nissan models from 2006 onwards. First, get inside the vehicle and turn on the ignition; within three seconds, press the accelerator pedal five times, as shown in the video. Then, wait for about seven seconds and press and hold the accelerator pedal for ten seconds. You will see the engine or ECU warning light start to flash more quickly until it turns off completely!
