The failure of the rocker cover gasket is a fairly common fault and causes oil leakage, which then dirties the entire engine, generating unpleasant smells that can often enter the cabin; replacing this gasket is very simple: once the cover is removed, take out the old gasket and remove any dirt and deposits; then place the new gasket in the designated groove just below the edge of the cover, apply gasket sealant at the corners, position the cover, and tighten the respective fastening bolts.
