How to use the EOBD port on Nissan vehicles

In this video, we will see how to connect an OBD2 tool to the port, which is located at the bottom left of the steering wheel, covered by a removable door without screws. The EOBD (European On Board Diagnostic) port is a standard 16-pin connector that allows you to read and clear error codes, monitor real-time data, install additional devices such as insurance dongles, GPS tracking devices, driving accessories, diagnostic app interfaces. These devices should always be connected with the engine off to avoid voltage spikes that could damage the car's control units. It is advisable to use devices of a certain quality, avoiding overly cheap tools that could, albeit rarely, cause communication problems with the ECUs or even short circuits. Avoid leaving them connected all the time, as if the car is not used for a certain period, they still consume some energy and could be compared to parasitic power consumption.
