How to Replace the Timing Belt on a Nissan Pathfinder

Here’s how to replace the timing belt on a Nissan Pathfinder. Open the engine bonnet and lift it, securing it with the prop rod. Disconnect the power wiring using pliers, and remove the plastic soundproofing panel with a screwdriver. Lift the car with a column lift to access the underside if necessary. Use a spanner to loosen the tensioner pulley and slide the belt off its seat. Using a socket wrench, unscrew the securing bolt of the tensioner pulley, and remove the water pump. Fit the new water pump, the tensioner, and the belt, and tighten everything with the socket wrench.
