How to Install a Nascar Style Spoiler on a Nissan 350z

A Nascar style spoiler is a more efficient device choice: it generates downforce with less aerodynamic drag, ideal for moderately powered cars. It utilises the airflow that naturally flows over the roof and tailgate; the 70° angle lifts the air, creating a low-pressure zone behind the spoiler, pushing the rear of the car downwards. This provides greater stability at high speeds, with the rear 'sitting down' instead of becoming twitchy. You will need a 6 mm thick polypropylene panel: 7 metal supports, 4 vertical rear posts, and 3 'L' brackets. The spoiler in the video is 91 cm wide and 9 cm high. Trace the shape onto the plastic sheet, cut out the supports. Fix the seal and then position the spoiler. Screw in the brackets and secure the rear posts. It’s a clever, cost-effective solution to increase high-speed stability without obstructing the rear view.
